Residents of Baldwin Twp., Castle Shannon, Dormont, Greentree, Mt. Lebanon and Whitehall requiring scheduled non-emergency medical transports are encouraged to request their community ambulance service. Patients needing transport home or between medical facilities do not have to utilize the hospital's transportation company. Medical Rescue Team South is owned and operated in part by the residents of the above communities; you do not have to use an ambulance service unfamiliar to you. You may request the hospital to contact MRTSA for transport. To schedule Non-Emergency Transport call MRTSA at 412-343-7889.
MRTSA provides community educators and speakers for schools, scout groups, civic groups and churches. Some of the programs offered are "Dog Awareness", "Woods Smarts", "Stranger Awareness", "Introduction to Emergency Medical Services for Children", "Show & Tell" and "The Choking Game-what parents need to know". MRTSA also provides merit badge and service learning programs. For further information please call 412-343-5111 or email info@mrtsa.com
Paramedic Josh Stuart coordinates the Car Seat Safety Program at MRTSA. Because at least nine out of ten car seats locally are improperly installed, our mission is to teach parents and caregivers about the safest ways to transport children. We advocate the proper use of child seats according to the manufacturer's instructions. Every situation is different and not every seat fits every vehicle. We will make the best recommendation to you and work with you for a proper installation. We ask you to help so that you can confidently secure your child in your vehicle, so that every ride is a safe ride. To schedule a car seat appointment please call 412-343-5111.

The MRTSA Honor Guard was created in the fall of 2000. It consists of 7 members including Chaplain Raymond Cook. The Honor Guard participates in public safety funerals, parades and service recognition.
