Public Safety Camp

Each summer Mt. Lebanon Police Department, Mt. Lebanon Fire Department, Medical Rescue Team South Authority, and Mt. Lebanon Recreation Department offer a weeklong day camp that exposes children to police, fire, and EMS services in a fun and interactive environment.

Firefighters extinguishing car fireThe camp includes lessons in cooking safety, pool safety, first aid, CPR, and weather safety, as well as demonstrations in fire hose operations, rope rescue scenarios, patient packaging, and vehicle rescue. Participants also get a chance to explore in a police car, fire truck, ambulance, bomb squad vehicle, and 911 van.

Children and firefighters playing in foamPublic Safety Camp is offered to children ages 9 to 12 years old and is held each summer during the last week of July between the hours of 9 am and 12 pm.
