Equipment
Medical Rescue Team South Authority seeks the best equipment and education so we can equip our field providers with the best tools to help our patients. All the listed equipment is in all our ambulances.
Safe Type 1 Ambulances
Our ambulance has been designed by our field staff for field staff to be the safest ambulances around. Read more about our ambulances in our Innovation page.
Stryker Power Pro-XT Stretchers
The Stryker Power Pro-XT Stretchers put our providers and patients first. They feature a hydraulic lifting mechanism that can safely lift to 750lbs. The stretchers also feature an expandable rail system to allow larger patients to fit on the stretcher safely and comfortably.
Stryker Power-LOAD System
The Stryker Power-LOAD System is a hydraulic lifting and loading system that seamlessly integrates with our stretchers. This system is easy to use and dramatically cuts down chance of stretcher tips and decreases knee and back injuries. Our entire fleet is equipped with these hydraulic stretchers and power load systems.
Stryker LIFEPAK 15
The Stryker LIFEPAK 15 utilizes advanced technology to allow us to perform diagnostic quality 12-Lead ECG’s in your home, all of our monitors can perform direct transmission to all of our facilities.
Stryker LUCAS CPR System
The Stryker LUCAS CPR System provides consistent quality compressions to cardiac arrest patients. Human healthcare providers can become tired when performing manual chest compressions and the rate and pressure can be inconsistent after a few minutes. The LUCAS device allows for consistent compressions for any length of time and frees up providers to perform other patient care tasks.
Video Laryngoscopy
We utilize video laryngoscopy in conjunction with advanced laryngoscopy techniques like SALAD to achieve optimal first pass success on intubation. This tool can dramatically reduce harm to patients.
CombiCarrier II
All ambulances are equipped with CombiCarriers. These devices replace our backboards and scoops to provide better methods of extrication, while also allowing us to follow the best practice for backboard free spinal care.
Doppler
We have recently added Dopplers to all our response units to add a new tool for pulse identification in low flow situations such a resuscitation, trauma or specialty patients who have no pulsatile flow like VAD patients.
Fluid Warmers
We have placed fluid warmers on all our ambulances to better treat our patients. Our fluid warmers can accommodate up to 4 liters of IV fluid.
PAX Response Bags
Medical Rescue Team South Authority uses the PAX Bags ecosystem for nearly all of our bags. MRTSA was one of the first American services to adopt this German company’s system of extreme organization. These bags are all backpacks which allow for ergonomic and safe lifting.
ECR Pediatric Restraints
The Emergency Child Restraint (ECR) System is the only pediatric restraint system in the United Atates that is crash rated for EMS and is able to accommodate the weight range 2-50kg.
ESO EHR Reporting
Medical Rescue Team South Authority recognizes a large portion of EMS is documentation, we have chosen to use ESO to make this documentation as easy and portable as possible. We leverage ESO’s other software like analytics, CQI, asset management and checklists to make real time data-based decisions and to spearhead new education.
Personal Protective Equipment
All MRTSA ambulances have a minimum of 2 ballistic plate carriers and 2 ballistic helmets on every ambulance. Additionally, all ambulances carry 2 Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs), and a full complement of rescue/extrication gear. All employees are given a personal reusable P100 mask.
